This is Red Dog, a 1 year old red pit bull mix. He was found wandering
the streets of Phoenix, hungry, frightened and
sick.
He had been at the pound 2 months when Mom first saw him.
He would not even lift his head to look at her when She called to
him. He had given up.
Mom made 2 more trips to the pound to check on Red
Dog. His condition never changed. He lay listless and
unresponsive in the kennel. On the second trip his paw was
sticking out of the kennel. When Mom reached down to touch it
he pulled away, but then slowly he stuck it out again to
touch her hand. Mom could tell that he was a good dog
that needed some rehabilitation work and a kind gentle hand to care
for him. She knew she could not take him as Rounder
and I keep her busy and she did not have the time or experience
to help him.
She contacted several shelters to see if they could rescue him
but, no one had the space for him. The shelters and rescues
are all full.
Mom continued to call on Red Dog, hoping someone had seen
his potential and adopted him. No one ever did. Then on
New Year's Eve she received word that his status had changed.
The Animal Care and Control worker said that he deteriorated
(whatever that means) and was to be put down the next day, New Years
Day! The pound had already closed for the holiday and there
was no way to get Red Dog out before his scheduled
execution. Boy was Mom sad! In
desperation she contacted Carrie Singer at Animal Guardian
Network and told her about Red Dog.
Long story short Carrie was able to get Red Dog out of the
pound before he was put down. Now comes your chance to
help. Red Dog is being cared for at a boarding facility where
he is preparing to move to a real home. Keeping Red Dog in
boarding is expensive.
I am writing now to ask you to donate to Red Dog's
boarding fees. This is your chance to make a big difference in
1 dog's
life.

Thank you for your help.
